on the 6th anniver. of the wardobe malfunction

during the superbowl half time show, i finally will have my say on the ridiculous practice of blurring or not blurring the female nipple on tv. first, i would like to state a few of my beliefs:

1. EVERYONE IS NAKED UNDER THEIR CLOTHES. think about that statement and what it means.

2. NUDITY, IN AND OF ITSELF, IS NEITHER EROTIC NOR PORNOGRAPHIC. nudity is the non-clothed state of the human body, nudity is not an action; it is a state of being.

3. RANDOMLY SELECTING A PARTICULAR PART OF A FEMALE'S BODY AND OBSESSING WITH IT TO A POINT THAT IT CANNOT BE REVEALED IS BOTH OFFENSIVE AND SEXIST ESPECIALLY BECAUSE IT IS DONE WITHOUT CONSISTENCY. male nipples are not blurred out and female nipples are not blurred out on a consistent basis.

i just don't understand WHY, what is the point? its not because its sexual - if that were the case, why show the bumping and grinding of the lap dance in the first place?

and if there's nothing 'happening', someone is naked, no one is engaging in intercourse, why the need to blur?

and why is 'aboriginal' nipple showing ok? i mean, if you are watching pbs and there's the national geographic society filming and no one's nipple or butt or anything is blurred out but if someone is doing a story on a nudist retreat or camp or beach, isn't nudity there 'aboriginal'? why blur it out in that situation?

i just don't get it-- maybe because i have female nipples.

OH, but listen to this, again, i just don't get it - we're watching a show on the discovery health channel, the person was male and had been on track for surgery to become a female- the operation included adding some 'curve' to the hips and breast implants. so the patient is there and the doctor has marked the procedures on his skin, it looks like he has sharpie all over, the surgery is being filmed and at the very second the saline bag was placed under the skin and muscle, the NIPPLE WAS BLURRED. we had already seen it!!!!
okay, i said my peace.
